Andover MLW talent

The Andover MLW sent three players to the world's largest wiffle ball tournament held here in Minnesota. The team consisted of A.L. CY Young, MVP runner up, Silver Slugger runner up and the captain, playoff MVP, and World Series champion of the inaugural season of the Andover MLW, Parker Janske. Along with A.L. MVP, Silver Slugger, and runner up in the CY Young race Sam Plohasz. Both Janske and Plohasz were both second and third in the Gold Glove voting as well. The third member of the team was Alex Wilkey. Wilkey was traded 4 in 2015 and struggled early in the season hitting a dismal .172 with one big fly and only a pair of RBI, but once mid season hit so did Wilkey and he did not stop. Wilkey helped the Rays stay competitive in the brutally tough American League, he finished the year hitting .364 with 13 Home Runs and 27 RBI finishing second in the Rookie of the Year voting. This squad of three took second place in the tournament that ranged from the South metro all the way up to Brainerd. Although Janske, Plohasz and Wilkey made a great run in the tournament trying to win the championship and the trip to ft. Myers FL, they came short but have their eyes set on it in 2016. This team is just a glimpse of the talent that the Andover MLW has to offer. There is Alex Keeney who was the N.L. MVP and Silver Slugger while his brother Aaron won the N.L. CY Young. Cameron Carmichael who led the league in walks and shined bright passed his expectations and won the Rookie of the Year. Sam McPhillips who ended the year with a sub 3.70 ERA. These are just a few examples of the stars in the 2015 season. We did not even mention Gold Glover Adam Perrin, 1st overall pick Seth Plohasz, or the Ace of the Astros Charles Roskowiak. We can only expect better from the stars in 2016 and the new rookies have some big shoes to fill.
