Want to Play Some Wiffle Ball?

With winter coming up, and pond hockey season fast approaching, you all may be forgetting about the greatest game in the nation: wiffle ball. This upcoming May, only a short 6 months from now, teams will be taking to Plo Park to show they have what it takes to win the 2016 Andover MLW World Series.

It's only been a few months since Parker Janske hit what would end up being the series ending grand slam against Sam McPhillips of the Giants in game 5 of the world series. The Mariners went on to win the game, and ultimately the series against the Giants, winning the series 4 games to 1, ending the inaugural Andover MLW season.

Since then we have seen numerous players retire from the league, maybe to one day (hopefully) make a comeback. We've also gained numerous new players who look to add to the already talented league. All in all, the 2016 Andover MLW season looks to continue the competitive and fun-spiritedness of 2015.

With the loss of some of our original players, including 3 captains, the Andover MLW league is looking for even more new guys to step up and contribute to the league. Aaron Keeney and Cameron Carmichael are doing just that, joining returning captains Parker Janske and Alex Keeney as captains of the 2016 season. While 4 teams is a good start, we would love if we could get 6, maybe even 8(!!), captains and teams for the 2016 season, we just need some of you guys to help us!

The problem right now is that there was already a draft. What??? Okay, it may have been a little quick, but we can always fix that. The 2016 captains are considering finding more captains and players and RE-DRAFTING! So if you weren't drafted already, or if you haven't committed to the league, do not fret, you still have a chance. As it stands now, we have 4 teams and 16 players. Kind of weak compared to last year. Which is why we are considering doing a re-draft sometime in March or April, so everyone still has an opportunity and plenty of time to sign up. But just know that it will be a first-come-first-serve basis if we begin to fill up quickly.

For the 2016 Andover MLW season, we want as many people as possible to commit to playing. We would love to see 6, heck, even 8 teams battle for the 2016 World Series championship. So if you are interested in playing, or if you know someone who is interested in playing, talk to Sam Plohasz or myself and we will try to get you set up in the league. We would love to have you!
